Job Summary
Kforce's client, a leading National CPA firm, is seeking a Tax Manager to lead and manage multiple state and local tax engagements. This role involves consulting on various state taxes, reviewing memoranda, addressing tax credits, managing audits, and responding to tax authority inquiries. The manager will also be responsible for training and supervising staff, managing client relationships, budgets, and production goals.
Must Have
- Lead and manage multiple state/local tax engagements.
- Serve as a consultant on state business income, personal income, sales and use, payroll and other state taxes.
- Review/draft memoranda and create spreadsheets.
- Address tax credits, audits, voluntary disclosure agreements, and tax filing positions.
- Work closely with Tax Partners to service tax clients.
- Research, write and consult on various tax engagements.
- Respond to inquiries from state tax authorities.
- Responsible for sales tax and other tax return preparation.
- Train and supervise staff, review and evaluate their work.
- Manage multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
- Degree in Accounting.
- CPA, EA, or JD or other related certification.
- 6+ years of progressive State and Local Tax experience in public accounting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience supervising teams.

- The Tax Manager will serve as a consultant on state business income, personal income, sales and use, payroll and other state taxes

Requirements
- Degree in Accounting; Master's preferred
- CPA, EA, or JD or other related experience or certification
- 6+ years of progressive State and Local Tax experience in public accounting
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; Seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; And coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
